COMPANY EVOLUTION
Recently honored with a 2009 Woman-Owned Business Award, presented by the Women’s Initiative, Allison Bliss has 30 years of experience owning and managing businesses. She created Allison Bliss Consulting, a Marketing & Communications Agency that helps business owners or department directors who are not attracting enough clients to earn the revenues they need. One-on-one Marketing coaching rescues business-owners who are completely bogged down with their day-to-day survival, and often lack the knowledge or perspective needed to reach their target market. As a marketing coach and consultant, Allison gently pulls companies out of that treacherous quicksand by providing a step-by-step plan of action – one that anyone can follow, even if they don’t have billions of dollars at their disposal (yet). Then her teams help owners write or design promotional materials or websites, optimize websites, produce podcasts, prepare presentations, build web presence, monetize services, or complete any number of marketing tasks required to fit each company’s particular plan.
MEDIA BACKGROUND
Allison brings decades of experience running businesses in various industries, from retail to lighting sales and service. For 10+ years she also managed music, film and television production services, specializing in communications and entertainment. In that capacity she interacted with (and was inspired by) some of the industry’s top talents, including Bobby McFerrin, Bill Graham, Francis Ford Coppola, and Robin Williams.
Allison established the Commercial Committee for the Directors Guild of America, and has been instrumental in the production of literally thousands of commercials, TV shows, films, music concerts, news pieces, documentaries, music concerts and events.
Through her positions in television (for ABC-TV, HBO, MTV and others) and the media, Allison also developed connections with politicians, business, entertainment and community leaders; she taps these as resources for her clients today.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Allison began managing businesses at the age of 14. Since then, she has been wholly responsible for bottom-line growth for a dozen successful companies, overseeing hiring, firing, marketing, finance, sales, inventory, and operations — in short, every function within each organization. That’s why Allison Bliss Consulting has a different approach, creating marketing & communications as an integral part of the bottom line, not just superficial hype. Clients comment on the value of her agency’s service, as well as its clarity, efficiency, speed, and results.
Allison originally founded her agency in San Francisco, and has since relocated to Oakland, California. Formerly co-chair of corporate outreach for the San Francisco & Oakland Chamber’s Women in Business group, Allison continues to support her community on the board of her alumnae association (San Francisco chapter). She also serves as an ambassador for her local Chamber of Commerce, and donates her agency’s services (and profits) to ACLO, the local theatre, along with the Midway Shelter, SPCA, Wardrobe for Opportunity, Women’s Business Exchange, Habitat for Humanity, Island Cat Rescue and various other worthy associations.
